"Shigeko Hirakawa is the only woman in the group, living in Paris since 1983, she has studied fine art and speaks perfect French. She is also the only one to have conceived an ample project of Land Art in the nerve centre of the town, at the confluence of the two rivers of Mont de Marsan, the Midou and the Douze which unite to form the Midouze. The project has two parts. Upstream of the confluence point, the dock of the watering place, a covered, semi-circular building : in the water or basin are plunged 12 wood columns whose bark is garnished with a light green resin ring. On the roof terrace, a carpet of grass replaces the sample of local flora that the artist had dreamed of growing there. "
