artpublic_auberge1.jpg Floating Island 1992

wood structures covered with copper sheets and epoxy vernished, inox cables,

2 sculptures of 4m x 1,5m suspended from the ceiling at 8,5m high

1% Architecture,

Purchased by the Ile-de-France Regional Council,

Van Gogh High-school, (Aubergenville, France)

artpublic_auberge2.jpg Two oval elements, resembling boat hulls, float upside-down under the ceiling, hung by cables, at 8,5 meters high. The sculpture is inspired by the architecture of the place, which echoes the architecture of an airport. It assumes, in this space, the role of a warming centre, thanks to the warm tonality of the copper shell that covers its woodden structure. Each element is 4 meters long.
